Yvonne will show you how to cut and grind glass into shapes and then use the glass as a base for the sheet clay. PMC sheet will be cut by hand or with hole punches (various provided -you can bring your own too).  The cut out piece of PMC will be placed on top of the glass, glued and then fired in the kiln. Return to pick up pieces after it is fired.  Materials fee of $35 to instructor payable at the beginning of the class. And fee paid to LBI $45 non members, $35 for members.

Learn basic glass bead making using Hot Head torches, a convenient and accessible way to practice lampworking at home. After you learn the basics, move on to intermediate skills like drop pendants and glass cane! Experience is not required, but those with experience will enhance their skills.  Materials fee of $30 payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. And fee paid to LBI $60 non members, $45 for members.

Use Bullseye glass to create a unique small dish.  It could be used as a soap dish, spoon rest, candy dish, or coffee table art! You will learn how to layer glass for fusing.  After it is fused flat, it will be placed over a dish mold and then placed in a kiln. The heat in the kiln will allow the dish to "slump" into the mold.  Return to pick up after it is fired.  Materials fee of $20 payable directly to instructor at the beginning of the class.  And fee paid to LBI $45 non members, $35 for members.

Lampworking is the ancient art of manipulating glass in front of a Hot Head torch.  Basic skills will be taught along with terminology.  Discover how to make a bead, glass cane and, if you dare, a fish! Instruction can be adjusted for those who may already have rudimentary skills.  A materials fee of $30 is payable to the instructor, Yvonne, at the beginning of class. And $35 for registration. NEW! Recycled Wine Bottle Wind Chimes
(adults)
Recycle your wine bottle into a beautiful
glass wind chime. Bring your bottles - 
cleaned (without labels and glue residue) 
for the first session. Using a glass/tile 
saw, turn that ordinary wine bottle into 
smooth glass rings. After cutting the slices
of the wine bottle, they will be placed into
the kiln to be fired. The second session 
you will assemble your own wind chime. Bring
beads, wire coat hanger or anything you want 
to include as embellishment. A $10 materials 
fee is payable to instructor Yvonne Yaar on
the first class. Dress for a messy process!
